"Megan's massage therapy work has been a crucial factor in helping my 18 year old Lipizzaner mare, Maya, recover from serious founder. In Fall of 2020, Maya rotated in all four hooves up to 16 degrees with sinking, and was in extreme pain. While we worked to control her pain and treat the underlying cause, insulin resistance and cushings, she was confined to her small pen with restricted movement. Megan performed weekly massage sessions which visibly improved Maya's comfort and certainly improved her circulation and muscle tension. Megan was more than happy to share her techniques with me so that I could supplement her work between sessions. I am certain this body work, along with correct medications and corrections in diet directed by my vet, and frequent correct trimming of her hooves with our farrier, helped Maya recover. Today, 12 months later, Maya is sound again, under saddle and hitting the trail with me. Megan is a highly educated, skilled and compassionate professional who would be an asset to any team. She works on all my horses, and she is an absolute pleasure to work with. If you are considering adding body work to your horse's program, I could not possibly recommend anyone more than Megan Steele."

“Megan is a skilled professional who provides high quality massage therapy for my two horses. One of my horses is a senior mare with arthritis, and Megan helps keep her active and comfortable. Her follow-up reports are thorough and detailed and she is familiar with the overall health of each horse. Megan has been regularly working with my horses for a year now and her care makes a difference in the performance of both mares. She is great to work with and my horses enjoy their sessions with her!”

“Megan worked on my young TB gelding. I was impressed with how much time she took with him (even in some pretty chilly temps!)
He seemed to enjoy the massage and it looked very thorough. In the middle of the massage he had a baby horse moment (fidgety) and she was very patient and understanding. They finished the massage in a very relaxed state.
I was also pleased with Megan communicating quickly with me through email to set the appointment up and she arrived in a timely manner. Thanks Megan!!”

Megan takes her time learning the history and stories behind her equine patients. I can’t wait to get Dasher on a routine schedule with Megan Steele!! Dasher’s diverse facial expressions were priceless.”

“Megan worked on my mare, Mocha, for the first time yesterday... and it was amazing. Megan was so patient with my mare, who just wanted to play follow the leader while grazing the whole time during the appointment. Megan was kind and knowledgeable, and really took her time to understand Mocha’s current state. Mocha felt good after the appointment, and seemed very relaxed.”

“When I got my horse, at first he had high anxiety and wouldn't settle down very easily. I asked Megan to come work on him and it was one of the best decisions I have made with my horse. She is absolutely brilliant, I have yet to find a question she doesn't know the answer to (in regards to absolutely anything related to my horse, not just the massage). She is very detail oriented and has the patience to work with horses that are not perfect (something I appreciate and need). She is kind enough to stay beyond the scheduled time for massages to answer my questions. During the massage, she is very focused and respectful toward myself and my horse, changing her approach if needed. She always sends detailed follow-ups of the well-being of my horse after each massage and will send friendly reminders if I forget to schedule another. She is very accommodating for time availability and is genuinely invested into the welfare of my horse. I have witnessed the change of my horse from being social but apprehensive of people and not always wanting to be touched to having patience and generally being much calmer. I do not worry about his stress levels anymore since I began working with Megan. I know that if/when I get another horse, Megan will definitely be invited to work with that horse. I do not have a single bad thing to say about her. Anyone with a horse should set up a regular schedule with Megan, you will not be disappointed (and the prices are ridiculously reasonable).”

“Megan is so knowledgeable and fantastic at what she does! I’ve had her working on my mare for almost 2 years now and each appointment I become even more satisfied and amazed at how well Megan is able to read my mare and help her with her releases and muscle. She is fantastic at reading the horse’s body language to help customize the massage to fit the horse’s need and desire. I love Megan and believe her work is fantastic. 1000000% recommend to anyone who is looking to help and treat their horse(s) with an amazing girl and affordable prices!”

“Megan just does a wonderful job with my horses! She is attentive to their needs and knows where their trouble spots are and lets me know about progress or issues each session. She adapts to each horse and their tolerance for being messaged and to their personalities. It’s made a difference in my now older horses to keep them ride ready. I definitely would recommend this service for your horse!”

“Megan is outstanding! I was blown away by her professionalism and knowledge when she came and worked on my horse. To start off she is very friendly and personable helping me feel comfortable with the process and making the session enjoyable for both my horse and myself. She is very detail oriented and took notes about my horse and his flaws, quirks and perks so that she could better help him in the session. My horse loved the session and he let both of us know it by stretching, yawning and literally smiling the whole time she was working on him. After the session Megan sent me detailed notes about the session which were very impressive and informative. My horse is moving much better and just feels happier. I would, and will, recommend her to anyone with horses because she goes above and beyond the call of duty. She is also very, very, very reasonably priced. I cannot wait until our next session.”

"Before she developed and incorporated Flights of Angels Equine Therapy LLC, I had Megan work with my Mustang, Sydney. Sydney is a Right-Brain Introvert horse who is cow-hocked. As a consequence, she tends to be tense both in her body and her mind. I thought massage and stretching might be helpful for both. I asked my farrier for a recommendation and he immediately mentioned Megan.
At the time Megan was entering school to obtain her certification in Equine massage therapy. After working with Sydney the first time she asked if Sydney could be a case study for her certification and I agreed.
Sydney loves having Megan give her a massage. Megan is very gentle and slow, but also very confident in her treatment of Sydney. Being a right-brained introvert, Sydney requires confident, slow, gentle handling. Megan allows Sydney to graze during much of her treatment, which, in turn, makes her more cooperative when Megan needs that!
Being cow-hocked, Sydney has tight semitendinosus muscles which are similar to the human hamstring, connecting her sacral vertebrae and pelvis to her hock on both legs. This tension combines with her cow-hocked conformation often making it difficult for the farrier to work on her back hooves. After working with Megan, it is now much easier for her to pick up her back feet for longer periods of time. It is surprising that she has not developed more hind leg problems since before I got her she was used in gymkhanas and breakaway, all of which require speed and use of the hindquarters. This has kept her from being on her forehand which is a good thing, but she has had to use those back leg muscles a lot."
